The job of a brewmaster is not an easy one. From raw ingredients to finished beer, it's a long and complex process that requires intensive monitoring, control, and oversight. Brewmasters develop recipes, manage ingredients, create schedules, monitor quality, pressure, and temperature, check equipment, document their work steps, coordinate the team, and oversee the brewing process. The reward for their hard work lies in the satisfaction of a finished, bottled beer, but also in the little things – like the sample taken during the maturation process using the tap and tasted. This privilege is reserved for the brewmasters and gives them the unique opportunity to sample the very freshest beer.
Bottled Zwickl beer isn't quite the same, but it comes pretty close to the tasting sample from a brewmaster. Here, we'd like to introduce you to the Zwickl from the Kanone brewery. Owner Gerda's favorite beer is unusually hoppy thanks to the Herkules and Mandarina Bavaria varieties: Alongside the classic Zwickl notes of creamy caramel, gentle roasted malt, brioche, and spicy yeast, there are juicy fruit notes, freshly cut grass, herbs, and a delicate bitterness. A finish with a defined, lingering bitterness crowns the beer experience and makes you want another bottle.
A Zwick'l to fall in love with!
