The label of the Fürst Wallerstein Märzen features a representative of the Oettingen-Wallerstein princely family: Prince Ludwig held political offices of his time, was Bavarian Minister of the Interior, worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, and had a penchant for aesthetics. He collected art and significantly expanded his family's collection. He was known for his eloquence, his political skills, and his love of art and music. To this day, his descendants fondly remember him, which is why they dedicated this wonderfully drinkable brew to him.
The Fürst Wallerstein Märzen with Ludwig's face on it is a bottom-fermented delight with a high original gravity and a pleasant 5.5% alcohol content. Typical of the style, the focus here is on the grain: a select selection of different malts—including gently and robustly roasted varieties as well as full-bodied caramel malt—conjure up a deep, velvety, and powerful aroma on the tongue. The notes of delicate, creamy caramel and grainy grain harmonize wonderfully with the skillfully used hops, which bring a fresh, spicy effervescence to the aromas. The clear, red-gold brew is adorned with a stately head of white foam and delights with its balanced character, malty sweetness, and excellently applied hint of hops.
A truly princely beer experience!
