When talking about craft beer and its pioneers, you can’t help but mention the BrewDog brewery. Over the course of their history, the team from Great Britain has become one of the most influential players in the world of craft beer and every craft beer connoisseur knows BrewDog. The most famous beer they produce is probably the legendary Punk IPA, but their other creations are also worth seeing - and tasting.
One of our personal favorites is Hazy Jane. The New England IPA combines a wonderfully cloudy, densely cloudy and grippy body with heavenly fruitiness and a surprisingly slim 5.0% alcohol content.
A mixture of light malt, barley malt and oat flakes is responsible for the velvety soft mouthfeel: the grain forms a stable base for the hops and creates a texture reminiscent of smoothies. When selecting the green gold, the brewers opted for the varieties Cascade, Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. The quartet delivers juicy notes of pineapple, stone fruit, mango and tangerine. The alcohol is so cleverly integrated into the profile that you don’t notice it. The same applies to the 25 bitter units, which at most contribute a delicately bitter undertone that goes wonderfully with the exuberant fruitiness.
BregDogs Hazy Jane is a light-footed NEIPA that scores with its intense flavor.
