A luminary in IPA heaven!
The Punk IPA is considered a real India Pale Ale classic in the craft beer scene. The reason for this lies in the lush, pronounced fruit note, which does not only become apparent during the taste test. The Scots have truly mastered the best of the six hop varieties Chinook, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, Athanum and Nelson Sauvin and created a beer that couldn’t be more fruity.
As soon as the amber-colored punk IPA is poured, a seductive fragrance of sun-ripened stone fruits envelops the nose. There apricot and mango meet a number of other fruits that resemble a tropical cocktail. The connoisseur will find lychee, pineapple and slightly tart grapefruit from the play of aromas. The taste of the IPA from BrewDog impresses with its tangy fruitiness, which initially laps the palate. Gradually, the tropical fruit-like note mixes with a wonderful hop bitterness, which still picks up speed until the aftertaste. The tart character slowly dissolves the sweet fruitiness of the starter as you drink it, but does not prevent small fruit tips from repeatedly struggling to the surface. Rarely is an IPA so cleverly balanced and varied!
The popular evergreen from BrewDog is now also available in handy 0.33 liter cans.
