A trip to the strawberry field is a highlight, whether you're 5 or 50 years old. Long rows of strawberry plants, fragrant straw, lush greenery, and strawberries as far as the eye can see. You walk through the rows with a basket in hand, picking fruit after fruit with bright red fingertips, breathing in the summery scent, and occasionally popping a strawberry into your mouth. You go home with a cartload of fresh fruit, and the possibilities are practically endless: strawberry cake, jam, syrup, dipped in chocolate, with vanilla sugar and vanilla ice cream, or simply eat them just as they are.
