Each of us has our favorite beer. A brew that we particularly enjoy, that perfectly matches our taste, and elicits a sigh of satisfaction after the first sip. But favorite beers also exist on a larger scale: Most breweries have a particular favorite in their range that’s particularly popular. A crowd-pleaser that everyone agrees on, and one that’s so popular that it can almost be considered the brewery’s flagship.
At Uiltje, Juicy Lucy is the star of the show. This wonderfully hoppy New England IPA captivates customers with a fruity blend of golden pineapple, sun-ripened orange, exotic passion fruit, and sweet and sour citrus. Oat flakes provide a smooth mouthfeel, and the Amarillo, Chinook, and Mosaic hops deliver not only a juicy burst of fruit but also gentle notes of freshly mown grass and a soft bitterness. Juicy Lucy is a poem for hopheads—and now also available in a feather-light version with 0.2% ABV!
The almost alcohol-free Lucy presents itself in the glass with the color of liquid sunshine and is crowned with a cap of fluffy ivory foam. Like the original, this low-alcohol variation smells like a cocktail of freshly squeezed fruit. The fruity concept continues in the taste: the dominant notes are pineapple, citrus, and a crisp bitterness. A hoppy delight!
