The wild journey of the young brewery Gebrouwen door Vrouwen began with the Tricky Tripel: The 7.8% strong full beer was the debut of the two beer enthusiasts Tessel and Do and the first beer that both succeeded in their home kitchen. They brewed the triple a few times and tested the recipe on friends and acquaintances who volunteered to serve as guinea pigs. The beer got to a host via detours, who tasted it and was enthusiastic. So enthusiastic that he wanted to buy a whole barrel of it and serve it in his pub. He gave the starting signal for the great brewing adventure and laid the foundation for Gebrouwen door Vrouwen.
Today the Tricky Tripel is part of the brewery’s core range and inspires not only friends and acquaintances of the brewers but people all over the world. The beer owes its name to its excellent drinkability: The Tripel is so drinkable that it can be quite tricky not to drink more than is good for you.
In terms of taste, the Tricky Tripel convinces with a cornucopia of malty taste nuances. Notes of creamy caramel, spicy blossom honey, strong yeast and ripe banana are dominant. A fine bitterness balances the full-bodied sweetness, a touch of citrus complements the play of aromas and gives the beer a little freshness kick.
