In fairy tales and folklore, the mother-in-law is always the troublemaker: she messes with her daughter-in-law, sticks her nose into things that don’t concern her, adds her two cents to every conversation and generally knows everything better. In some stories the problem goes much further and the mother-in-law is nothing less than a fire-breathing dragon that causes arguments and strife.
Fortunately, things can look completely different in real life, as David Hertl and his mother-in-law show us, for example. The master brewer from Upper Franconia has landed a real lucky break with his wife’s mother: Petra is the dream of all sons-in-law and gets along wonderfully with David. To crown their fabulous relationship, the master brewer has come up with a fine beer for them. The fine drop is called Mother-in-law Rache and is a wonderfully fresh wheat beer.
The revenge lies in the alcohol content: The fine beer is a gentle 0.3% and is therefore one of the alcohol-free brews. However, this deficiency does not affect the taste. The velvety-soft wheat is just as full-bodied, refreshing and tasty as a conventional one and has the advantage that you keep a clear head while enjoying it.
