Friends are family that we choose and people who enrich our lives significantly. They have an open ear for our worries and problems, they are there to give us advice and support, they are a mirror for us and lend us their car, their hiking boots, their umbrella and, in an emergency, their last shirt. In the best case, they are loyal, honest and mean us better than anyone else outside our family. With friends, you can go on vacation, gossip about annoying colleagues, have a cozy beer or two and steal horses.
Brewers also make friends. It’s ideal when the ladies and gentlemen behind the brewing kettles make friends with other people in their field, because such connections often lead to collaborations that benefit not only those involved, but also us. This is what happened, for example, at the Hofstetten breweries from Austria and Stu Mostów from Poland: the international friendship recently resulted in the creation of two delicious beer specialties. The aptly named Friends NEIPA is one of them. The strongly cloudy New England IPA combines Austrian brewing tradition with Polish creativity and brings tangy citrus fruit, tropical fruit (especially mango and pineapple), juicy peach, spicy pine resin and a harmonious bitterness to your glass.
