BOERGÉE is a manufactory from Austria that has set itself the task of combining two worlds: The brewery has created a hybrid of beer and sparkling wine that is revolutionizing the world of beverages and catapulting beer into the world of elegant aperitifs.
The marriage of the two very different stimulants succeeds through the careful execution of the so-called Méthode Tradition. This tried and tested technique comes from champagne production and is responsible for the typical bubbling carbon dioxide in sparkling wine. The brewers use the process to give their brew elegance, liveliness and a fruity acidity. After the beer wort has been fermented with hops, champagne yeast and grape juice, the brew is bottled and undergoes a second fermentation. This creates the sparkling carbonic acid and the champagne-like aroma. This maturation lasts for several months. At the end of this time, the yeast settles as a sediment at the bottom of the bottles. In order to obtain a crystal clear product, the bottles are gradually rotated. The yeast migrates from the bottom to the neck of the bottle, where it is then frozen and removed in ice cube form.
The drink resulting from this complex process is a delicately hopped, lean beer with fruity acidity, a dry character and a hint of white grapes. For special occasions we recommend the gourmet size with a capacity of 0.75 l .
