A great ale from the home of ales.
The Killanny Red flows into the glass in a shimmering red amber tone and forms a solid, fine-pored head of foam in light beige. Gentle carbonic acid transports wonderful scents of dried fruits, caramelly roasted malt and oak to the surface. A hint of roasted hazelnut and a hint of tobacco underline the smell, as well as a clear hop note. Sweetness and bitterness meet on the tongue in the form of roasted malt and hops. Dried red fruits support the mild sweetness, coffee and roasted aromas support the bitterness of the hops. A beautiful play of aromas that ends in a dry, soft finish. The ale has a strong body, which appears light-footed and lively thanks to the lively carbon dioxide.
Killanny Red is an extremely successful red ale with temperament and taste.
Most Irish beers with a strong character go perfectly with very hearty meat dishes. Red, grilled meat, homemade burgers, hearty winter stews with bacon, lamb chops, roast beef or black pudding bring out the flavors of the beer to their best advantage. For vegetarians, we recommend ripe, spicy cheeses such as Roquefort, Gruyere or Limburger. The typical Irish cheddar also goes perfectly with it. If you completely abstain from meat and animal products, we recommend Killanny Red on its own - it’s so good that it’s also delicious without any accompaniment!
