Chanmé is a beer creation that immediately captivated us with its psychedelic design. On the label you can see a kind of labyrinth in bright colors that throws perspective and logic to the wind and looks as if you could get completely lost in it. But you also can’t look away.
Behind the hypnotic work of art is a Double IPA, which was created in a collaboration between Gekko Brew Co. and their friends from Bulles de Provence and Blue Coast . The three French breweries have created a real hop bomb that revolves around the two varieties Strata and Nelson Sauvin. The brew brings an impressive 8.0% alcohol content and a relatively harmless 25 bitter units to the table. Chanmé comes in a delicately clouded orange gold and forms a small crown of fleeting white foam. A fruity and gently resinous scent entices you to take a sip. The first sip reveals a powerful body that has a wide repertoire of different hop notes to offer. Exotic fruits, fresh hop cones, spicy pine resin and a skilfully used bitterness combine to create an effective India Pale Ale with double strength.
