The Icelandic brewery Einstök ushers in the cold season with an excellent winter ale. The beer is brewed with smoked barley from Iceland, the finest malts, Bavarian hops and hand-picked spruce tips and perfectly captures the rough character of the Icelandic winter.
Einstöks Winter Ale has a whopping 8.0% alcohol content and warms body and soul with its unique taste. The seasonal beer specialty delights with spicy pine notes and a smoky whiskey aroma.
According to the brewery, the Winter Ale is not a beer for beginners and certainly not a drinkable casual beer. Einstöks Winter Ale wants to be enjoyed with attention and respect by those who have already found their inner Viking. Everyone else has to go out into the snow for a while.
The Icelandic Winter Ale is presented in maroon mahogany in the glass and adorns itself with a fleeting veil of hazelnut brown foam. A wintery scent of gingerbread, roasted malt, caramel and candied red fruits rises from the dwindling crown. The fresh and spicy aroma of the young, lush green spruce shoots rounds off the olfactory aroma play and makes you want to take the first sip. This follows the olfactory first impression immediately: The Winter Ale is spicy, slightly smoky, malty, sweet and fresh from the spruce.
A beer for all those who defy the merciless cold of winter and face it with a steadfast eye.
