Wheat for President!
Wednesday Wheat IPA is the full name of this beer. However, the “W” in the title could also stand for wheat, as the W Day IPA is the first Greek wheat IPA ever. There is also a lot of wheat in the beer in the form of wheat malt.
The Greek creative brewery Septem has adapted the production of its beers to a simple but well thought-out concept: one beer for every day of the week, two on Sundays. Eight handcrafted, excellent beers that taste good not only on the designated day of the week.
In their first Greek wheat IPA, Septem showcases the exotic aromas and distinctive taste of new hop varieties Waimea from New Zealand and Vic Secret from Australia. The full hop power is supported by two types of malt, which perfectly balance and round off the floral fruitiness. W Day flows into the glass in a cloudy sunny yellow and forms a powerful head of foam. Heavenly scents of passion fruit, citrus fruits, mango and pineapple rise from the white fluff and sing a hoppy quartet in the nose. The hops also come first in the taste. A floral fruit bouquet of citrus zest, blackcurrant and tropical fruits tickles the taste buds before a well-balanced portion of malt is added and the fruitiness is counteracted by aromas of caramel and freshly baked cookies.
Septems W Wheat Day IPA is the perfect summer IPA right down to the aftertaste of pine resin, mango and savory aromas.
