The Maltese landscape is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Lord Chambray brewers. The lush flora offers a wide range of regional ingredients, the wild coasts encourage you to philosophize and think and while walking around the island the team has already come up with one or the other idea for a beer.
Gozo has a variety of beautiful beaches, the most magnificent being the hidden bay of San Blas. The highlight of the beach, which is surrounded by green slopes, is the shimmering, copper-red sand. For their English IPA called San Blas, the brewers took inspiration from this and created a beer that flows into the glass in the same shade as the sand. The award-winning beer presents itself in a golden glowing peach color and is adorned with a small crown of dense-pored, white foam. Scent and taste combine the best properties of the hop varieties used: the American hops deliver fruity peach notes and an abundance of fresh and sparkling citrus aromas, while the British hops contribute finer, nobler notes and a hint of spice. The addition of an extra portion of hops during the storage process creates the wonderfully subtle bitterness and the dry finish that lingers on the tongue for a long time and makes you thirsty for another cool San Blas.
