Freshly poured, the snow-white head – rich, firm, and stable – sets a wonderful prelude. Along with the beer's brilliant, deep golden color, I eagerly anticipate the first sip. Immediately, a fresh aroma with a distinct citrus note rises to my nose – a delightful scent of lemon and mandarin peel. Subtle spice notes remain in the background. Now it's time to taste! Right from the start, I notice a refreshingly crisp tingle on my tongue. Since caramel malts are used in the brewing process, I taste pronounced malt flavors that immediately fill my mouth and palate. This overwhelming fullness is very distinctive, paired with a light honey sweetness. The robust body and complex malt notes linger beautifully. The finish is very pronounced, and I once again experience citrus and honey aromas. Here, the interplay of the characterful ingredients is particularly successful. I can rightly call this beer a true original! Deep golden and shiny – citrusy aroma, strong malt flavor, subtle bitterness with a light honey sweetness.
