Einkorn is one of the oldest types of grain on earth and was already cultivated 5000 years before Christ. The undemanding plant thrives on a wide variety of soil types and does not require many nutrients. It is not susceptible to diseases or pests and, thanks to its high nutritional and vitamin content, is ideal for further processing into food.
Our favorite food is undoubtedly beer, so we would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our favorite foods with einkorn: the Einkorn Edelbier from the Riedenburg brewery. All raw materials for the ancient grain beer bear the Bioland seal and are grown in organic farming, and beyond that there are only good things to say about this beer.
The fine noble beer with einkorn presents itself in a reddish amber tone in the glass and is adorned with a white foam crown. A fruity scent rises from the frothy splendor and unfolds soft notes of caramel and vanilla in the air. The flavor profile consists of crispy bread aromas, sweet malt, fragrant hay, freshly cut herbs and juicy notes of citrus. The Einkorn delivers notes reminiscent of marzipan or roasted almonds. A fine acidity runs through the beer and makes the Einkorn Edelbier from the Riedenburg Brauhaus the perfect summer beer.
