The Weißenohe monastery brewery pays homage to the green gold hops with a very special series: the GreenMONKey beers. All three variants are brewed in the same way and belong to the same beer style. The original is Pils, a popular beer in German latitudes and a real classic that should not be missing from any well-stocked range. Both the barley and the hops used come from organic farming and are therefore of excellent quality. Four hops are used for basic hopping, and the beer is also fermented cold and allowed to mature unfiltered to its full splendor over a period of three months. The special thing about the GreenMONKey series and the subtle difference between the three beers is the fourth hop: In the so-called dry hopping process, the base beer is stuffed with three different types of hops.
GreenMONKey Polaris is brewed with the Hülser flavor hop Polaris and is characterized by a fine menthol aroma.
Polaris flows into the glass in a delicate light gold and forms a small, dense head of foam. A mild, fruity hop aroma rises from the white foam. A touch of citrus and a subtle note of peppermint round off the olfactory aromas and make you want to take your first sip. The initial taste reveals a creamy, light-footed body with a silky mouthfeel. Beautiful hop notes of mountain mint, freshly mown grass and other juicy herbs develop on a biscuit malt base. The gentle mint note makes this beer something very special.
