The rude gesture on the label of this beer reveals at first glance what it is about: The brew is called Lust and is part of the #sevensins series from the Munich Brew Mafia brewery. The Munich Mafiosi have taken the Seven Deadly Sins as their theme and developed interpretations using hops and malt. We find Laziness, a porter with hemp flowers, particularly clever, but the other equivalents of the seven character traits declared reprehensible by the Bible are also tempting in their beer form.
Wollust is a double New England IPA that is not stingy with its charms. The brew contains the beguiling power of the hop varieties Citra, Galaxy, Sabro and Polaris - a lively foursome that attracts all eyes with its tropical, fruity aroma. The sinful brew flows into the glass in a delicately cloudy peach gold and is permeated with a subtle (shame) blush. An airy head of foam sits on the cloudy body. A sensual scent of fully ripe tropical fruit tickles the nose and tempts you to try it. The first sip is like a wave of juicy fruit that floods the mouth with pineapple, mango, papaya and citrus notes.
It has not been proven whether Munch Brew Mafia’s Lust has an aphrodisiac effect, but we find 7.4% alcohol content and four different hop varieties in large quantities pretty sexy.
