The Sour Monster series has long been part of the Munich Brew Mafia range. The team from Bavaria’s capital city continues to relaunch the popular line, and the Monster family is constantly growing. In 2025, we’ll be welcoming two new members: Sour Monster Grapefruit / Passionfruit and Sour Monster Currant.
The latter is a cute little fellow with impressive horns, sharp teeth, clawed hands, and a whole cartload of currants in his luggage. This gentle beast brings a mild 5.0% ABV to the table and is refined with the finest currant puree and three types of malt. The grain gives the brew a silky-smooth texture and body, while the summer fruits are responsible for the deep red color, the delicate pink in the foam, and the irresistible berry aroma.
The fruity richness is already noticeable in the aroma: currants galore! The first sip continues this fabulous first impression one-to-one. Currants flood the palate and tickle the taste buds with soft sweetness and fresh, fruity acidity. The Barbe Rouge hop variety enhances the berry aroma with its own fruity kick, while the malt remains discreetly in the background, contributing only a delicious creaminess.
