After the successful collaboration with Dr. Johannes Sauer brings the next Sauer on board for their current brew. Partner in Crime is none other than Sebastian Sauer, genius and wild brewer behind Freigeist Bierkultur from Stolberg. With combined forces and two special ingredients, the team of friends brewed Sweet Consequinces.
The sour ale is refined with honey and quince. Before the golden extra ingredients found their way into the beer, the duo brewed a light-footed sour ale with a mild character. Upon completion, the work was complemented with exquisite honey and the juice of fresh quinces. After bottling, the brew was then pasteurized to prevent the yeast from converting all the honey sugar into alcohol. The interruption of the fermentation ensures that a maximum of honey and quince flavor remains in the beer. The unmistakable aroma of the woody autumn fruit and the smooth creaminess and spiciness of the honey harmonize wonderfully with the natural acidity of the ale and create a skilful balance of sweet, sour and fruity notes.
The beer’s name is a little play on words, combining the English words for consequences and quince into one witty phrase. Shouldering consequences is often not a pleasant affair, but we wear Orcas Sweet Consequinces with joy every day!
