The masters of hopped India Pale Ales and hypnotic label designs have done it again: They have enriched the beer world with a visually, olfactorily and culinarily beguiling brew.
Blech.Brut is a small craft beer brewery in Bamberg that specializes in the production of modern, intensely hoppy brews and regularly outdoes itself. Neon Horizons is one of their latest works. The New England IPA enchants with its dense cloudiness and a wonderfully grippy, creamy texture. Barley, oat and wheat malt are responsible for the opaque Korngold, the beautiful cloudiness and the velvety mouthfeel, while the hops used - Centennial, Citra, Columbus and Simcoe - conjure up a delicious balance of spicy herbal notes and juicy fruit in the glass. The beer was cold-hopped, which increases the aroma to a maximum without creating too much bitterness.
Neon Horizons enchants the palate with gentle malt notes before the hops take the stage and bring with them powerful notes of freshly picked forest herbs, golden mango, ripe pineapple, tart grapefruit and sparkling citrus fruit. The fruity sweetness of the hops is balanced by an excellently balanced bitterness. The modern Bamberg beer has an impressive 6.8% alcohol content and is the right choice for anyone who likes hops in large quantities.
