Anyone familiar with cannabis knows what kief is – the fine, highly concentrated dust that separates from the resin-rich flowers and carries a particularly potent aroma. However, here we’ll be talking about another – albeit equally intoxicating – substance: beer. Kief and beer had little in common in the past, but then came hop kief! Resourceful hopheads extracted a concentrate from the lupulinating glands of the hops, which contains all the essential oils, resins, and aromatic compounds. Riwaka Hop Kief is a particularly flavorful version of this essence, derived from the New Zealand hop variety Riwaka, and lends Blech.Brut’s latest creation, Lichtstrom, an intense citrus profile and sparkling freshness.
This New England IPA is cold-hopped with a sumptuous combination of Citra T90 & Cryo, Bru-1, and the aromatic Riwaka Hop Kief. A stable malt base of barley, wheat, and oats provides a creamy mouthfeel and the typically velvety body of a New England IPA. Visually, Lichtstrom presents itself in a densely clouded corn gold with a lush, ivory foam. Aromas of juicy grapefruit, lime, and passion fruit, ripe pineapple, sweet oranges, and tropical fruits explode on the nose. On the palate, these fruit notes blend with a smooth, almost creamy texture and a fine, well-integrated bitterness.
Lichtstrom is a velvety-smooth, aroma-packed stream of pure hop energy – powered by Riwaka Hop Kief.
