The Veldenstein Brewery stands for handcrafted brewing with passion, creativity, and a regional focus. Through experimental processes and with considerable skill and a love for beer, they create beers that combine tradition and modernity. The team places great emphasis on quality, transparency, and craftsmanship: With their brewery creations, owner Josef and his brother Wolfgang aim to broaden their customers' horizons and offer them a wealth of flavorful alternatives to the classic range.
A brand-new highlight from the brewery is the naturally cloudy West Coast IPA. This subgenre of the traditional India Pale Ale originates from the American West Coast and distinguishes itself from the velvety, smooth, and cloudy-fruity East Coast IPAs with its crisp hop bitterness, elegance, and fruity hop aromas. While the East Coast IPA often impresses with its malt sweetness and full body, the West Coast IPA captivates with its freshness, pronounced citrus and pine notes, and a dry, refreshing finish.
In the glass, the beer displays a clear, old-gold amber color with a fine-pored, beige head. The aroma is intensely hoppy: grapefruit, pineapple, citrus, and spicy pine resin rise to the nose. On the palate, a lively interplay of fruity sweetness, robust bitterness, and a delicate malt base unfolds, supporting the flavors. The finish is dry, crisp, and enticing with a clean, invigorating bitterness profile.
