Dark. rich smoky
Dark, full-bodied and smoky - this is how the brewers of the American brewery O’Fallon describe their fine Smoke Porter. The classic is restrained when it comes to alcohol content and bitterness, but it really packs a punch when it comes to malt. With an alcohol content of 6.0%, the example is one of the milder among the porter beers and the 24 IBU is also quite tame if you compare the Smoke Porter with its peers. The dark beer, on the other hand, is absolutely above average in terms of malt: powerful smoked malt from Bamberg, the unofficial smoked beer capital of the world, provides the wonderful smoky taste. Five other types of grain give the beer a full body and a whole range of soft aromas.
O’Fallon’s creation flows the color of freshly roasted coffee beans into the glass and completes its enticing appearance with a hazelnut-brown head. The scent of a late summer campfire rises from the creamy splendor and tempts you to take the first sip. The first drink covers the tongue like a warm blanket and flatters the taste buds with toasted malt, brown sugar, fine dark chocolate and smoked ham. Smoke Porter is a complex composition of smoke, malt, soft sweetness and harmonious bitterness.
The fine drop from the house of O’Fallon is an award-winning palate that you should not miss!
