With the Hertl family, you don’t show your love with letters, kisses or cake - if master brewer David Hertl really likes you, then he dedicates a beer to him or her!
Everyone has their own love language, but beer is definitely the most beautiful. In the Hertl range there is now a beer for every member of the direct and indirect family: mum , dad , little son and the grandparents have one, and of course the father-in-law can’t be without either. David and father-in-law Alfred are a heart and soul, so there is now a beery tribute for him.
The fine drop is called Schwiegervater’s Stolz and is a wonderful smoked beer with a pleasant 4.9% alcohol content and an extremely drinkable character. The Franconian classic flows into the glass in a rust-red chestnut brown and is adorned with a small hand’s breadth of ivory-colored foam. A malty bouquet rises from the delicate veil, which smells of campfire, grain and toffee. The initial taste is surprisingly mild and caresses the palate with an incredibly elegant and restrained smoke aroma. Soft notes of roasted grain, creamy caramel and spicy yeast caress the palate and complete the pleasure experience. This smoked beer from Hertl is the perfect start for anyone who wants to get closer to the world of smoked beer.
