Chimay is one of the few breweries to bear the Trappist seal. The monks of Notre Dame de Scourmont Abbey still personally work in the brewhouse, crafting the finest beers from select ingredients. The creation we’d like to introduce to you here was, for a long time, brewed exclusively for the monks’ own consumption. Chimay Gold Dorée Blond served as their table beer and was poured with meals. This light, smooth, and flavorful beverage was the perfect complement to all kinds of food and was so enjoyed by the men of God that one fabulous day they decided to share their treasure with us.
Chimay Gold Dorée Blond is a Belgian classic with a relatively low alcohol content: the bright golden, finely hazy brew delivers a modest 4.8% ABV. A floral aroma rises to the nose, unfolding enticing notes of summer meadow flowers, sun-ripened lemons, and cloves. The taste reveals a skillfully balanced body with soft grain notes, rounded sweetness, and harmonious bitterness. The delicate hop character is complemented by spicy coriander, citrus peel, and elegant yeast.
We offer the specialty of the Trappist monks in a small bottle and in a large format that is perfect for sharing and enjoying together!
