Of course, unusual beers cannot be missing from the classic range of the British brewery Greene King. In addition to numerous tried-and-tested ales and stouts, the brewery from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk also has a whole range of modern, hoppy and innovative beers to choose from. Their IPA Double Hop Monster belongs to the category of hop-intensive beers and delights with exuberant hops.
Double Hop Monster flows into the glass in a deep amber tone and forms a slightly tinted head of foam that is relatively fleeting and makes room for the fine scent. The IPA is balanced on the nose: roasted malt, brown gingerbread and creamy caramel meet delicate apricot and citrus notes. In terms of taste, the hops are a little more dominant and bring a strong bitterness to the beer, which runs like a common thread from the initial taste to the finish. In addition to the bitterness, the hops give the beer a wonderfully tropical fruitiness and a playful florality. Fine notes of candied orange peel and tangy citrus fruits complete the hoppy aromatics. Soft malt notes bring a nice complexity to the beer. The strong 7.2% alcohol content is well integrated into the complex flavor nuances and is hardly noticeable.
The IPA Double Hop Monster from Greene King is an extremely drinkable IPA that impresses with its crisp bitterness and fine hop notes. The perfect beer for hopheads!
