The double-dry-hopped India Pale Ale Toucan Tropic from Vocation is like a mini-vacation in the South. The label immediately catches the eye in bright flamingo pink and ocean blue, creating a holiday atmosphere with a stylized toucan and tropical plants. The brew itself continues the delight with the coppery red color of the setting sun and will envelop you with a fragrant bouquet of citrus zest, ripe mango, and peach. The icing on the cake is the summery flavor.
Toucan Tropic has a solid stature thanks to four types of grains: barley, rye, and wheat malt, as well as the addition of oat flakes, giving the brew a full body and a wonderfully velvety mouthfeel. Hop varieties Galaxy, HBC 586, and Simcoe provide abundant juicy fruit notes. This green gold conjures up a fruity potpourri of mango, pineapple, white peach, orange, lemon, and grapes on the tongue. Robust pine resin provides a delicious contrast. With 6.7% alcohol by volume and a whopping 65 bitterness units, this DDHIPA is not a beer for casual drinking.
We recommend treating the enjoyment of this fine wine like a little excursion: Take your time, sit on the balcony or in a nice spot outside, pour the beer into a suitable glass, toast to life and love, and drink every sip mindfully and calmly. This will turn it into a celebration!
