The coconut is a tropical delight that we enjoy in countless ways. Nothing evokes a wonderful holiday feeling quite like a freshly cracked coconut with a straw. Especially when enjoyed under a coconut palm on a white sandy beach, gazing at the gently lapping, crystal-clear sea. Coconut milk has a similar effect, transporting us directly to Bangkok’s street food stalls: a fiery curry with shrimp, vegetables, and fragrant jasmine rice is a mini-trip for all the senses. The aromatic nut is also excellent in shakes and ice cream. We also love the small, crispy coconut pralines with their Caribbean flair, Grandma’s moist coconut macaroons at Christmas, and of course, Bounty bars.
And we’re not the only ones: Emperor’s Brewery is the second brewery in our repertoire to have been inspired by this exotic delicacy to create a beer. Following Two Chefs Brewing’s Bounty Hunter, they now present Hokey Religion. This Imperial Stout not only packs a powerful 12.6% ABV, but also an exquisite symphony of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate and toasted coconut. A staggering 300 kilograms of Colombian cacao nibs and an incredible 600 kilograms of roasted coconut went into the kettle to create this sinfully delicious masterpiece.
Hokey Religion closely mimics the creamy coconut filling and the delicate chocolate coating of the bar – Bounty in liquid form!
