With its Small Batch Family Series, the Canadian brewery Moosehead takes a journey through the history of the Oland family. Susannah Oland laid the foundation for the company’s history and was the first Oland to lead it. The first installment of the series is dedicated to her. This was followed by brews for her descendants, culminating in the Session IPA for her great-great-great-grandsons Andrew and Patrick Oland, who currently guide the brewery’s fortunes. Andrew is the current President and CEO of Moosehead, while his brother Patrick is the CFO. Their beer concludes the series for now, bringing it to a spectacular finale.
Andrew & Patrick’s Session IPA presents itself in the glass with a shimmering copper-red amber-gold hue and a small, white head on its hazy body. An olfactory symphony of bright citrus notes, tropical fruits, and ripe stone fruits entices the first sip. This fruity interplay continues throughout the beer, caressing the tongue with summery sweetness and gentle acidity. A crisp, skillfully balanced bitterness perfectly rounds off the experience. Thanks to its light 4.7% ABV, Andrew & Patrick’s beer is the perfect choice for relaxed evenings with friends and a great accompaniment to a movie or a casual dinner.
