As with many things, the foundation is crucial in beer. Without the highest quality raw materials, even the best, most knowledgeable, and most skilled team cannot achieve a good result. Our favorite beverage doesn't require much: pure, ideally soft water, malt from sun-ripened grains, aromatic hops, and a hardworking yeast culture. The latter is often cultivated in-house, and the water can sometimes be drawn from the brewery's own wells, but for the other two ingredients, breweries usually rely on suppliers. For this reason, it's important to maintain good contacts with local farmers and build a relationship with them.
Cierzo Brewing has done just that: Agronet provides them with everything they need, and they share a mutual respect and affection. When Agronet recently entered into a partnership with Hop Revolution, a hop supplier from New Zealand, Cierzo celebrated the union with a celebratory beer.
Green Team is a hazy Double IPA packed with New Zealand hops. The Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Pacific Jade, and Rakau varieties deliver a whopping 60 bitterness units and an explosion of fruity, resinous, and hoppy flavors. A summery brew that celebrates the green gold in all its glory.
