While for some, hops are just a plant with intensely fragrant flowers that they encounter while taking a walk, for others, it is their entire world. We're talking about the men and women in the world's brewhouses, especially those dedicated to craft beer. Hops have played an important role in beermaking for centuries, but the craft beer movement has brought them more into the spotlight than ever before. This is because the green gold is the most influential factor in beer flavor. While the choice of grain and yeast can also make a difference, hops are the most powerful contributor to aroma.
The team at Cierzo Brewing is also completely devoted to the plant and recently created a tasty tribute: Objectif Houblon, a Belgian-inspired IPA, created in collaboration with the Italian brewery Torre Mozza. The BIPA celebrates the green gold in all its glory.
The honey-gold collaboration brew is brewed with Citra and Sabro hops and is extremely hoppy even in its aroma: Fresh pine, summer flower meadow, and ripe apricot tickle the nose and whet your appetite for the first sip. The flavor profile is composed of very similar components and delights with spicy pine resin, freshly mown grass, floral notes, juicy stone fruit, and a crisp bitterness.
