Winter time is bock beer time, but if it were up to us, then it would be bock beer time anytime. We are big fans of artisanally brewed strong beers that knock our socks off with an intense variety of aromas, warming percentages and subtly conceived worlds of taste.
A wonderful example of beers of this type is Jak W Dym, a dark, dense and special Rauchbock that, although it comes from Poland, actually reminds of a completely different place. For the creation of their Rauchbock, the brewers of the Pinta brewery were inspired by the unusual beers of the Bamberg breweries. The Schlenkerla brewery in Bamberg is one of the few breweries that still malt its own barley. The germinated grain is dried over aromatic beech wood smoke and in this process it acquires its wonderfully smoky taste. This special malt also flavors Pintas Jak W Dym and gives the strong bock that certain extra.
The Polish Rauchbock with Bamberg touches flows into the glass in a wonderfully dark mahogany tone and has a hand’s breadth of hazelnut-brown foam on the shimmering copper-red body. An incomparable scent of smoked ham, campfire, rye bread and caramel rises in the nose and makes you excited for the first sip. This reveals a full-bodied beer with even more smoke, ham, toffee and bready notes in the taste.
