The breweries FIRST Craft Beer from Budapest and Christiania Bryghus from Copenhagen have come up with an exciting task for a collaboration: Each team brews its own beer, but both brews must fit into the common theme of “cookies”.
FIRST Craft Beer is contributing to the Crank It Up project. This powerful Pastry Stout not only has the cookie on its label, it tastes like one too. But the 7.0% strength brew tastes of so much more than just cookies. In addition to the aroma of graham crackers, three types of grains, hemp seeds (a special ingredient that is a must in every brew from our partner Christiania Brewery and certainly comes from their stash), various malts, and the aroma of toasted coconut have all gone into the kettle, forming a wonderfully full-bodied, velvety smooth, and biscuity-like flavor profile.
Crank It Up flows into the glass the color of freshly brewed espresso and is adorned with a majestic crown of dense, hazelnut-brown foam. The aroma of freshly baked cookies entices the palate with a creamy mouthfeel. Luxurious notes of butter cookies, melting chocolate, toasted coconut flakes, and gentle roasted malt envelop the palate. The powerful sweetness is underscored by a delicate bitterness.
FIRST Craft Beers Collaboration Brew is exactly what the task required – a biscuit in beer form!
