Our top-fermented country beer is brewed in Sommerbeck – the small village where our brewery is located and where regional ingredients, craftsmanship, and community are inextricably linked. The foundation is a blend of four Sommerbeck grains – barley, wheat, rye, and oats – harvested by our friend, farmer Lars, and brought directly from the field to our brewery. The beer is then refined with Pilsner malt and select caramel malts. Thanks to this interplay, our "Ernte" develops its characteristic grainy aroma, accompanied by a delicate, pleasantly bitter note. Our brewmaster, Flaco, has developed a special mashing process for this: The grains are first gently pre-cooked before the mash is cooled down and the malt is added – this allows the natural grain aromas to unfold particularly intensely and harmoniously. The "Ernte" pairs perfectly with autumnal stews or boiled beef – a beer that tastes of the landscape, the season, and true home.
