Brewers are a sociable bunch and meet each other on a variety of occasions in their daily lives. In these situations, they chat, drink, and sometimes even brew. This happened at Hertl: David from Braumanufaktur, Steffen from Nürnbier, and Christian from Bierothek® recently got together to enjoy a beer together and, at the same time, create one.
Their collaborative effort is called "Die Drei von der Zapfstelle" (The Three from the Tap) and is a smoky red beer. Bamberg and Nuremberg’s brewing traditions converge in this brew: The trio has brewed a classic Nuremberg red beer and refined it with Bamberg charm—namely, smoked malt—to create a truly special treat.
The fox-red brew with a delicate head exudes a robust aroma with hints of campfire. This first impression continues on the first sip: Soft, rich grain notes envelop the palate, unfolding notes of oven-fresh bread crust and red wild berries. A delicate acidity underscores the interplay of aromas. Fine, spicy smoke adds the finishing touch and runs like a thread through the entire beer experience. It is never dominant, but always present.
If you’re longing for campfires, stick bread, and summer camp with your best friend, this beer is the perfect choice. A true summer hit that will let you indulge in wonderful nostalgia!
