The collaboration between the two breweries Orca and Barbarossa was destined for greatness from the start: Both breweries are known for their excellent craft beers and their keen sense for handling extravagant raw materials. Individually, they're already a force to be reckoned with, but in combination, one can expect something truly magnificent from them.
Their joint brew is simply called Saison, but at first glance it is anything but simple: a collage of bright colors, orcas, chili peppers, and interestingly shaped spices draws the eye and arouses curiosity about the beer. Chili and spice are extra ingredients used to flavor the brew: fruity Pasilla chili gives the Belgian Saison smoky notes and a hint of chocolate and red fruits; the exquisite Andaliman pepper contributes a lemony freshness to the interplay of flavors, tingling on the tongue and gently numbing it. After the brewing process was completed, this exciting beer creation was aged on chips of French oak. This final step skilfully rounds off the Saison, giving it depth and complementing the flavor profile with a spicy hint of vanilla.
Orcas and Barbarossa's Imperial Saison with Pasilla chili and Andaliman pepper is a voluminous brew that delights with complexity, floral citrus notes, fiery spice, and diverse wood notes. An unusual beer experience that should be enjoyed at leisure.
