When it’s hot, bone-dry, and blazing bright outside, we long for something cool, fresh, crisp, sour, and spicy. Our bodies crave salt, and our souls long for adventure. The team at Orca Brau feels the same way, so with a deft hand and help from the home brewing community, they’ve created the answer to our summer cravings.
Sip of Summer was created in collaboration with Luise and Gregor. The two brew beer in their own home under the small label "Der Hopfengärtner" and were awarded gold at the 8th German Home Brewing Championships: Their passion fruit, guava, and vanilla sour completely wowed the judges and was named the best creative beer of 2024. Now they have visited Nuremberg’s Orca Brau and contributed their expertise and bright ideas to a collaboration.
The jointly brewed Mango Yuzu Fruit Sour boasts a moderate 5.2% alcohol content and contains barley and wheat malt, hops, and the finest Philly Sour yeast, along with a range of exciting extra ingredients: Exotic mango puree delivers a fruity burst of flavor, the Ma Khaen peppercorn variety adds complexity, floral notes, and fire, yuzu tickles the palate with crisp acidity, and a pinch of salt adds contrast to the sour beer. Sip of Summer is a culinary short trip that will have you sighing with satisfaction even on the hottest of July days.
