Many like mint in their lemonade. The green plant can also be found in summer salads, in Moroccan cuisine, in sorbets and cocktails or in modern interpretations of pesto. No matter where you put it, it conjures up a fine freshness in the dish or drink and also convinces with its wonderful color.
Gardener and brewer Kris Emmerling from Bamberg is also a big fan of mint. The founder of the smallest brewery in the cathedral city brought the hops back to his homeland and not only cultivates the aromatic umbels in the family nursery, but also all kinds of other herbs, shrubs, fruits and vegetables. A part of his rich harvest supplies the people of Bamberg, another part goes directly from the garden to the brewery and is processed into delicious beer.
Back to mint. This is what Kris uses for his mint man. This pale beer is brewed with the Cascade hop variety. The hops grow in the family brewery, are picked by hand and both brewed and used for dry hopping. It gives the beer a juicy fruitiness that harmonises wonderfully with the refreshing character and earthy spiciness of the mint. The mint man brings you light malt, tangy citrus notes and a great bouquet of herbs into the glass. Perfect for summer!
