The undisputed bestseller from Braumanufaktur Hertl is undoubtedly grandpa’s favourite . The Franconian cellar beer is not only a favorite in David’s range, but also in the context of all beers in the Bierothek® it is the front runner. It was the best-selling beer by volume in 2020 and we totally understand the hype surrounding David’s grandpa.

Like so many beers from the Hertl brewery, Opa’s Liebling is a tribute to a very special person: Grandpa Franz can always be found somewhere at the brewery in Thüngfeld. He always has a good word and a friendly smile in store and loves to drink fine cellar beer. It was of course obvious that his beer had to be such. The beery honor presents itself in a naturally cloudy gold tone in the (matching) mug and is crowned with a good amount of airy, snow-white foam. A delicate copper veil runs through the beer and makes you want to taste it even more. The initial taste runs down the throat with malty sweetness and a soft mouthfeel and introduces a beer enjoyment that tastes of grain, floral hops and fine fruit.

Because more beer is always better, Opa’s Liebling is now available both in bottles and in kegs with a capacity of 5 litres.
