Bitterness is a quality that we particularly appreciate in beer and that is often missing in non-alcoholic brews. The bitterness makes the brew interesting, gives it character and freshness and balances out the fullness of the malt. Many non-alcoholic beers are unbalanced because their sweetness lacks a bitter counterpart.
The Warsteiner brewery has a number of non-alcoholic beers in its range and (at least) one of them provides the solution to exactly this problem: Herb Alcohol-Free not only has the bitterness in its name, it also delivers it in terms of taste. With less than 0.5% alcohol content, the creation can easily be described as light-footed, but no expense was spared on the taste: while the malt forms a soft base with a gentle sweetness, the hops shine with crisp bitterness, grassy notes, spicy herbal notes and the eponymous bitterness. A pleasant mouthfeel with sparkling carbonation rounds off the overall impression appropriately.
If you are looking for a finely balanced, non-alcoholic beer with a bitter character, this is the right choice. And if you want to combine this tipple with a suitable dish, we recommend grilled trout, for example. Served with grilled vegetables, homemade dill butter and a crispy baguette, the fish is a real treat that harmonizes wonderfully with the bitter aroma of the beer.
