The Estonian brewery Anderson's is world-renowned for its unusual creations. Unconventional brews with unconventional ingredients, such as Catch Up! Chili, brewed with tomatoes, basil, and fiery chili peppers, have catapulted the brewery into the international spotlight and given the team a certain reputation. The men and women behind the brewing kettles are known for their courage and experimental spirit. But these young mavericks prove they're not just about loud, colorful, and flamboyant beers with their more moderate brews.
Simply The West is one of those more classic beers. The pilsner's ingredient list contains neither vegetables nor spices, yet this brew stands out from other examples of its style. The team has given the classic a modern twist: Simply The West is a so-called West Coast Pilsner – a pilsner with a hoppy kick. The Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops are traditionally used in West Coast India Pale Ales and lend this modern pilsner a delightful hoppy character, with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and pine resin. A crisp bitterness and a moderate 5.3% ABV round out the experience harmoniously.
Simply the West was created in collaboration with the Nurme brewery from Latvia and is available in limited quantities. When it's gone, it's gone!
