Mangoes and passion fruit are irresistibly delicious, especially in the warmer climates where they grow. Strolling through a market in Southeast Asia, for example, you’ll see not just one, but certainly a dozen different varieties. There are green, elongated mangoes that are sour, firm, and mealy; deep red, almost purple-tinged ones that are sugary sweet and have a pungent aroma; round ones with pink cheeks; varieties in vibrant orange; and even some that taper to a point. Passion fruit, too, appears here in a wide variety of colors and forms. What they all have in common is their incomparably juicy, tropical, and sunny flavor.
We don’t know where the Anderson’s and Blackout breweries sourced the fruit for their collaboration brew, Mangowar, but it’s delicious. Exuberant mango notes, along with the crisp acidity and tropical flair of passion fruit, take center stage in this flavorful sour beer, and the label alone is enough to lift your spirits: a vibrant illustration of mangoes and passion fruit against a sunny yellow background wraps around the can, instantly lifting your mood.
The canned drink has the same effect. Mangowar delights the taste buds with its fruity acidity, exotic richness, ripe mango, and delicate passion fruit. A robust alcohol content of 5.9% perfectly rounds off this tropical treat.
