There are breweries that have dozens of beers in their range. They have a huge repertoire and a constantly changing contingent of brews, juggling recipes, raw materials, and styles on a daily basis. Things are quite different at Brinkhoff: The Dortmund brewery focuses all its expertise on a trio of beers. Each example of this small selection has been perfectly crafted. The recipes are perfect, every move is meticulous, the raw materials are of outstanding quality, and the taste is exactly as the brewmasters envision it. Perfection, not surprises.
The pioneer of this decision and the oldest of the three brews is Brinkhoff's No. 1. This premium Pilsner was developed by the brewery's first master brewer, Fritz Brinkhoff, in 1887. His years of traveling through the Czech Republic took him to Pilsen, where he gained extensive experience with this beer style. His Pilsner was the first beer sold under the Brinkhoff name. It is the most popular brew in the range and the brewery's flagship.
The drink flows from the bottle in a gleaming, crystal-clear, sun-gold color, forming a majestic head of fluffy, snow-white foam. A nose of freshly mown grass and soft grain entices you to try it. The harmonious palate is comprised of fragrant meadow flowers, forest herbs, pale malt, and a crisp bitterness. Delicious!
