The Boulevard Brewing Company has a selection of beers in its range that will transport your palate straight to Belgium - even though the brewery is located in Kansas City in the US state of Missouri. John McDonald, founder of the brewery and fan of Belgian brewing, is responsible for the culinary journey. The innovator contrasts the uniformity of mass-brewed American industrial beers with taste, character and appearance and presents us with a multifaceted selection of Belgian-inspired beers from the heart of the United States.
One of these beers is Tank 7, a farmhouse ale. When working out the recipe, the perfect combination was found in Tank Seven, so the team simply named the brew that. The Belgian farmhouse ale presents itself in a strong, cloudy old gold in the glass and piles up a fluffy head of pure white foam. A fruity scent of grapefruit, lemon peel and light grain rises to the nose. The first sip follows the same pattern and enchants the palate with juicy citrus fruit, pink grapefruit, fresh hops and a hint of spice. A powerful 8.5% alcohol content and perfectly seasoned 38 bitter units complete the play of aromas. The beer pleasure culminates in a dry finish that has a hint of white pepper.
