Armand Debelder is a key figure in the history of Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. The passionate beer connoisseur grew up in the pub and found his way to the brewhouse via a few detours and detours. He was the person who saved 3 Fonteinen during the beer slump of the 1990s and turned the lambic blender into a real brewery. Armand was surrounded by beer from an early age and legend has it that he drank it even then: there were no soft drinks in the Debelder house, instead a glass of lambic diluted with water was served at lunch. While Gaston, Armand's father, almost gave up in the 90s, Armand never lost faith in traditional and authentic Belgian beer. He made a name for himself as a geuze blender and finally started brewing his own beer in 1998. He overcame family resistance and was rewarded with great success. Although his creations were significantly more expensive than the industrially produced beer that was popular at the time, his audience appreciated the craftsmanship, the heart and passion behind his brews and, last but not least, their unique taste.
Armand's influence continues to this day, even though he has long since passed the mash paddle on to the younger generation. The Armand & Gaston cuvée is a solemn reminder of Grandpa Geuze and his own father.
