With their Stout Decadence, the brewers at the Dutch brewery Emelisse have once again outdone themselves. The beer presents itself in a deep, dark mahogany tone in the glass and forms a beautifully creamy, hazelnut-brown head of foam. Wonderful aromas of melt-in-the-mouth nougat and pan-roasted pecan nuts emerge from the fine-pored foam and make you want to take your first sip. This reveals the full aroma of the flavor bomb: pure nougat and caramelized nuts meet on the tongue. A wonderful sweetness caresses the palate, a pointed bitterness balances the sweetness in the right places without taking away its seductive power. There is a hint of spice and a hint of hops gives the beer a light-footed freshness. Nevertheless, Decadence remains a powerful beer specialty with a voluminous body.
