The people of Japan are known for their pursuit of perfection. The focus isn't just on craftsmanship, cuisine, or education: even the most insignificant aspects of everyday life are given significance through dedication, passion, and discipline. No matter what is too small or unimportant, one can't dedicate oneself to it wholeheartedly. This attitude makes the Japanese masters of their craft in every conceivable area. Beer is one of these areas, and we'd like to introduce you to Kirin – a brewery that produces the finest brews with a great sense of responsibility, passion, and a commitment to perfection.
The team strives to represent authentic Japanese craftsmanship with each of their creations. Guided by the maxim "reverence for life," they approach the brewing process with humility and respect.
Kirin Ichiban is the brewery's flagship product and the culmination of all its effort and discipline. The lager flows into the glass with the orange-gold color of ripe apricots and forms a head that's fine-pored, creamy, and volatile. A pleasant blend of smooth malt and subtle hops tickles the nose. The initial sip follows the same pattern, enveloping the palate with a balanced blend of oven-fresh brioche, forest herbs, and delicate green pear. A feathery bitterness harmoniously rounds off this elegant delight.
