Amidst all the hopped creations from Little Rain Brewery, there are also some beers that literally stand out from the crowd. Their fruity Gose Guava Jelly, for example. The tasty sour beer is brewed with guavas, mangoes and passion fruit and, in addition to the full load of fruit, also contains soft marshmallows and lactose. Of course, hops are also found in the brew, but the green gold takes a back seat in view of the sheer number of extra ingredients. The same applies to Little Rains Highwayman: The Imperial Porter focuses on the malt and the hops are merely decorative accessories.
The powerful beer specialty brings a hefty 13.5% alcohol content to the table and doesn’t hide behind it. In the glass, the dark symphony appears in midnight-black mahogany, a creamy crown of hazelnut-brown, dense foam crowns the beer. A scent of cocoa, roasted malt and freshly brewed coffee rises from the foamy splendor and promises heavenly pleasures. And Highwayman keeps what it promises us olfactory: Manifold interlocking aromas of fine cocoa, roasted malt and strong mocha ensnare the palate and flatter the soul. The hops contribute a harmonious bitterness, while the alcohol provides a warmth that spreads from the tongue to the stomach.
